Did you know that the building components supplied by Martinsons will bind almost 9,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide during their lifetime? This corresponds to more than 13,000 people's return flights between Stockholm and New York. The emissions during the production chain correspond to only 800 trips. Talk about climate-smart!

In the middle of central Skellefteå, we at Martinsons have been involved in building Sara Cultural Centre. One of the world's tallest wooden buildings with its 20 floors that extend about 80 meters up from the ground. The total volume comprising the frame is approximately 10,700 cubic metres of CLT and 2,600 cubic metres of glulam.
The production of the building elements for the frame takes place at Martinsons in Bygdsiljum, about 60 km from Skellefteå. The raw material comes from forests in the region and the short transport distance to the construction site naturally has an extra positive effect when it comes to low climate impact.
The new cultural centre houses six stages, two galleries, a library and a foyer with an open and inviting floor plan. Kulturhuset will be home to Västerbottensteatern, Skellefteå Art Gallery, the City Library and Museum Anna Nordlander (MAN). In addition, the building houses a brand new hotel to meet the increasing tourism in the region.

Of course, we are proud of the trust we have been given in such a complex and spectacular project. At the same time, it's quite natural, as a sign of the new normal.
