Road traffic bridges constructed with a transversely prestressed bridge deck that is insulated and surfaced provide low maintenance costs and a long service life. Deck bridges are manufactured from beams that are held together transversely with steel rods. Depending on their size, our deck bridges are joined together either in the factory or on site. One of the advantages with deck bridges is that they can be designed with staggered joints to allow the construction of very long bridges with a homogeneous, unbroken surface. The road surface is sealed with a waterproof membrane and asphalt or gravel. Dimensioning and surface treatment are all executed in accordance with the current Swedish bridge standard, with a service life of 80 years.
